Just a new poem. It's called Heal.

Oh my god oh my god OH MY GOD!! I've been published. For money! Real, live money! Good money! Happy money! *grin* For doing something I normally do for free! Check out teenwire.com and take a look at their "How to Be an Ally" article.

I have another "new" poem up... from January. Check out the part of me that is you. Kudos to Dido for inspiring part of it.

The end of an era... which means much faster loading of this page for everyone! Superstats has been hit by the dotcom meltdown and wants to charge me for statistics. So... bye bye, Superstats! I mean, the pages are hosted on a friend's computer now so I get free logs... I just have nothing to analyse them with. *grin*

A new poem... everything old is, well, old again. *sigh*

Introducing... Mark! That and a few updates to my Friends section. Happy Holidays, everyone!

October 23rd, 2000
Wow... a pseudo-major update! Aren't you all excited? First off, if you're interested in being notified when my webpages are changed (because let's face it, you can come here repeatedly for months at a time without seeing anything budge an inch *grin*), you can check out the Contact Me section. If you want to know about the origins of my name, you can check out my blurb about it in the newly updated About Me section, which now is current, as opposed to being three years out of date.

Well... the strangest thing happened in my email inbox yesterday: I was awarded the Grafix Shop's Award of Excellence out of the blue. The award is "an award based solely on merit, in recognition of sites that meet a certain standard of design and content and also make a contribution to our community on the web." So, I thought that was nice. I mean, I didn't even have to do anything... it just came in the mail. Wow.

I actually have my scanner working now, so I am planning on adding a whole slew of pictures here at some point. Sit tight!

I've finally done it: I'm one of the newest registrants on eBay. In fact, I actually have something up for sale, so if you have any interest in Sarah McLachlan, you can check out my list of auctions.

I have a new poem up called Glory Awakened, which is about something that happened to me when I was in Maui in early May. I also changed how the alphabetic listing of poems looks.

It's what you've all been waiting for: a change to Kalev's site! *grin* Actually, the changes aren't really content-related at the moment... they're Internet related. I just registered my first domain name so now you should be at http://www.kalevhunt.com/ reading this. My friend Jim Geison has graciously provided me with space on his webserver AND one of his IP addresses so I actually have a real, live website to play with. Thanks Jim!

The server space and IP address were necessitated by the fact that UBC had decided to cancel my account there because the nasty company I used to work for hadn't renewed my account with them. Bad nasty company!

And unsurprisingly, I'm making all these changes while I'm on vacation in San Francisco. Or rather, while I'm spending some of my deliberate unemployment time in San Francisco staying at Jim's place. I just don't seem to get stuff done on this site unless I'm away from home.

I actually made a few very small technical changes just to this main page which should make for faster image rollover loading, changes which I hope to spread to every single page once I get the chance.

It's amazing what you can do on vacation... *grin* I've put up a "new" poem called Killing Me Softly. I say "new" because I wrote it back in October of last year but never got around to putting it up. This summer I had the privilege of getting to read it in public and it went over well so I thought I'd better add it, especially since it's part of the Part Three Poems category.

I've also put up a "pseudo-poem" that my friend Jim Geison and I are turning into a song as we speak. If you go to his site, you'll notice we've already turned One Night into a pretty damn good song so I'll let you "all" *grin* know when Longing is done.

The icon rollovers should work in IE now... aren't you excited? *grin*

Okay... I was published in XY. They published my short story Falling. I would normally give a link to their website but that seems to be down.

I know some of you will laugh at the irony of my first major publication being in XY... oh well. That's life, huh? Of course, they managed to mangle the story (I would *never* start a story with "Chris the jock..."), not pay me, and not even let me know they were going to publish it.

They actually published two things: Falling and the poem One Night. I guess that's it, then... I'm on my way. *smile*

What can I say? Work has been hellish. I've found out I've been published but I'm not gonna say where until I actually get a chance to see it myself. (Stupid dumbass slow magazine publishers!) Two pieces of mine actually made it in: a story called Falling and one of the poems on this site, One Night. Stay tuned, I guess. *grin*

I've put up a new poem, Saving Grace, which is a thank you to a very special person in my life. I also put up Come Armageddon Come, which didn't make it over from the "old" pages originally.

Those of you using the awful other browser made by Mr. Gates' company may have noticed my "new look" doing strange things. This is because, silly me, I expected the inferior browser to be able to handle the very simple JavaScript which drives my pages. I'll try to get things working with IE in the next week or so.

May 12th, 1999
This is the new look for my pages... and it's certainly been a long time coming. Drop me a line and let me know how you like it.

I'll try to get the Favourites stuff finished soon.
